MOTET’s soul and jazz funk tunes combine rich horn arrangements with high energy rhythms. Intricate melodies and infectious grooves are clearly rooted in the traditions of funk, while incorporating both latin and soul influences. MOTET delivers a modern, danceable groove that is fresh and envigorating!
MOTET plays its own originals, as well as fresh arrangements of tunes by the likes of Yellowjackets, Steps Ahead, Bob Berg and Stevie Wonder. Composer, arranger and drummer, Seb Guard, the source of much of the band’s original songs and creative arrangements, teams up with fellow rhythm section Robin Clayton (bass), David Kirby (keys) and Andy Jackson (guitar). They are joined by MOTET’s accomplished horn section of Sam Parker (saxes), Tom Parsons (trumpet) and Stuart Goodburne (trombone).
MOTET is joined by accomplished live performer and in-demand session vocalist, Debby Bracknell. Debby has sung for top artists such as Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande and Shakatak.
