Neil Angilley Trio

  • The Stoke 103 Stoke Road Guildford GU1 4JN (map)

A welcome return to Guildford Jazz for this awesome trio! They incorporate instrumental virtuosity and three-part vocal harmony, which adds a unique dimension to their sound, creating an uplifting take on the infectious rhythms of Brazil and Cuba.

They have released five albums and work regularly in the London jazz scene and across the UK, performing at prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott’s, The Stables, and the 606 Club. During a recent tour in Italy, they appeared at the Trieste Loves Jazz International Jazz Festival.

As an original member of the Grammy-nominated band Down To The Bone, Neil has co-written and played on many of their number one albums, most recently The Sweetness, which charted at number one in the USA Billboard Charts for jazz/funk. Neil has also appeared as a guest soloist on various albums, including An Ordinary Day in an Unusual Place by US3, Fuzzy Logic by David Benoit, and Crush by Richard Elliot.

In addition to appearing on the main stage at Glastonbury with Dame Shirley Bassey, Neil has also performed with Vanessa-Mae, Maceo Parker, Lionel Richie, Lisa Stansfield, and Three Friends (Gentle Giant), among many others.

Featuring Neil Angilley (piano & vocals), Davide Mantovani (bass & vocals), and Davide Giovannini (drums & lead vocals).

“The crowd were captivated by the Neil Angilley Trio’s authentic Brazilian rhythms on top of rich vocal harmonies, segueing into staggering solo and group passages of virtuosity. Sensational” — Ronnie Scott’s
