Guildford Jazz anchor and founder Marianne Windham, recently awarded the Services to Jazz Award in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, bring the bass to the fore to explore the role of the bass in the history of jazz and the bass players who have influenced her playing and her musical journey.

With the brilliant STEVE LODDER on piano, and MARTIN PYNE on drums.

The lunchtime jazz is held in the Cafe at the Guildford Institute, which boasts a baby grand piano as well as delicious food. Food is served from 12 to 2pm, followed by live jazz performance from 2pm to 3pm

The performance is upstairs in the historic Assembly Room at The Guildford Institute, Ward St, North St, Guildford GU1 4LH

The café – V Café at the Institute – has been run by Nick Humble since 2019. Joined by his friendly team, they offer a welcoming space to relax, have a coffee, and enjoy delicious vegetarian and vegan lunches. The regularly changing menu is based on seasonal, locally-sourced produce. Their vegetables are grown by The Halow Project and they also offer freshly-roasted Surrey Hills coffee..
