Lenore Raphael is an internationally renowned jazz Pianist, Steinway artist, radio host and jazz teacher and has been critically acclaimed as one of the best pianists in the jazz mainstream today. Critics, jazz hosts and jazz lovers all agree that Lenore is one of the most SWINGING mainstream pianists today. Influenced by Oscar Peterson, Bud Powell and Bill Evans, she has taken these influences and created her own recognizable sound.
Featured in top jazz clubs like Dizzy’s at Jazz At Lincoln Center, The Blue Note (NYC), Blues Alley (DC), The Jazz Showcase (Chicago) Ronnie Scott’s (London), and festivals such as The London Jazz Festival, Ottawa International Jazz Festival, and Joy of Jazz in South Africa where she was one of the 3 famed Steinway artists including Ahmad Jamal and Abdullah Ibraham, she is still enjoying touring all over the world.
For this special performance, Lenore is joined by Glen Manby on alto sax, Marianne Windham on bass and Matt Home on drums, to pay tribute to two great masters, pianist Oscar Peterson and alto saxophonist Sonny Stitt, famously recorded on the 1959 album “Sonny Stitt Sits in with the Oscar Peterson Trio”
