Nominated for Jazz Musician of the Year, 2025 Parliamentary Jazz Awards
For her release, ReWired, Janette Mason has selected a basket full of all the tunes that mean the most to her, from timeless standards to modern chart classics, and reworked each of them with Jakub Cywinski on bass and Eric Ford on drums.
With Janette at the helm, the original tunes’ irresistible melodic personalities are daringly expanded and reconfigured by the trio so that they delight the listener anew with the depth and sophistication of jazz while retaining the direct appeal of pop.
No-one is off limits and the repertoire draws from everyone from Gary Numan and David Bowie to Kate Bush and Olivia Rodrigo, with Janette’s fierce and inventive arrangements pulling everything together. Mixing deep grooves, gutsy swing, blazing solos and unforgettable melody, this is timeless music re-wired for the present day!
